Organic Manure Scheme – Empowering Farmers in Meghalaya

The Organic Manure Scheme is a state-run initiative by the Department of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, Government of Meghalaya. It aims to provide hands-on training at the village level on producing organic compost for plant health management and sustainable agriculture.

Key Benefits:

  • Training and Awareness: Learn how to produce organic compost for healthier crops and sustainable farming practices.

Eligibility:

  • Resident of Meghalaya: Only residents of Meghalaya are eligible.

  • Bonafide Farmers: Must be an active farmer engaged in agriculture.

How to Apply:

  1. Step 1: Write an application on plain paper (no specific form required).

  2. Step 2: Attach self-attested copies of necessary documents.

  3. Step 3: Submit the completed application and documents to the nearest Agriculture Development Officer at a CD Block or Horticulture office.

Mode of Selection:

  • First-Come, First-Served: Preference will be given to farmers with sufficient cultivable land.

  • District Agriculture Officers in your district.

  • Sub-Divisional Agricultural Officers in your sub-division.

  • District Training Officers in Tura or Shillong.

  • Agricultural Development Officers at your nearest Community and Rural Development Blocks.

  • Passport-sized photograph

  • Identity Proof

  • Proof of sufficient cultivable land

  • Any additional documents as specified
