πΎ Agriculture Information Unit Scheme β Government of Meghalaya
The Agriculture Information Unit Scheme is a State Plan initiative launched by the Department of Agriculture & Farmersβ Welfare, Government of Meghalaya.
This scheme aims to empower farmers by providing free agricultural information, training exposure, and participation opportunities in trade fairs and exhibitions within and outside the state.
π― Objectives
Promote awareness among farmers through free distribution of information leaflets, booklets, and calendars.
Encourage farmer groups and self-help groups (SHGs) to participate in agriculture expos, trade fairs, and Kisan Melas.
Organize crop competitions, World Food Day celebrations, and other agriculture-related events to boost farmer engagement and learning.

Free supply of agriculture information materials such as leaflets, booklets, and packages of practices.
Sponsorship for farmersβ exposure trips, exhibitions, and training events inside and outside Meghalaya.
Organization and participation support for Kisan Melas, Trade Fairs, and Crop Competitions.
β Eligibility Criteria
The applicant must be a resident of Meghalaya.
The applicant must be a bona fide farmer engaged in agriculture.
π Application Process (Offline)
1οΈβ£ Farmers can approach the nearest Agriculture Development Officer of their respective CD Block or Agriculture Circle.
2οΈβ£ Beneficiaries are selected on a first-come, first-served basis for the distribution of materials.
