Intensive Castration Scheme – Gujarat

The Agriculture, Farmers Welfare and Cooperation Department, Government of Gujarat, has launched the “Intensive Castration Scheme” to promote animal health and improve livestock management. This scheme provides financial assistance to livestock owners and animal-rearing organizations (such as Gaushalas, Panjarapols, and others) for the castration of male calves using either the closed method (Burdizo Castrator) or the open surgical method. The program is implemented through District Veterinary Polyclinics across Gujarat.


Key Benefits

💰 Financial Assistance:
Eligible beneficiaries will receive a ₹500 subsidy per male calf for castration through either the closed method or open surgical method.


Eligibility Criteria

✅ The applicant must be:

  • An individual livestock owner or an animal-rearing organization (Gaushala, Panjarapol, etc.).

  • The male calf must be castrated using either the closed or open method.


Application Process (Online)

📍 Apply Online through: I-Khedut Portal

Steps to Apply:

  1. Visit the I-Khedut Portal.

  2. Click on ‘Schemes’ → ‘Animal Husbandry Schemes’.

  3. Select ‘Intensive Castration Scheme’ and click on ‘Apply’.

  4. Click on ‘Apply New’ to start a new application.

  5. Use the ‘Update Application’ option to make any corrections.

  6. After completing the application, confirm it.

  7. Take a printout of the confirmed application and submit it with the required documents to the concerned Taluka Office.

Documents Required

📄 To apply, keep the following documents ready:

  • Copy of barcoded ration card or organization registration certificate.

  • Copy of photo ID proof (Aadhaar Card / Voter ID / Driving License / Kisan Credit Card).

  • Copy of bank passbook or cancelled cheque.
