The Government of Assam has launched the Mukhya Mantri Krishi Sa Sajuli Yojana to empower small and marginal farmers by promoting farm mechanization and increasing agricultural productivity. Agriculture is the backbone of Assam’s economy, with over 70% of its population dependent on it. However, due to frequent floods, fragmented land holdings, and low productivity, many farmers face financial hardship.

To address these challenges, this scheme provides financial assistance to farmers for purchasing modern farm tools and equipment, encouraging scientific farming practices and improving income levels.


Key Features

  • Financial assistance of ₹5,000 per farmer.

  • 5 lakh farmers across the state will benefit.

  • Funds are directly transferred to the farmer’s bank account (DBT mode).

  • Beneficiaries are selected by the District Level Committee (DLC) headed by the Deputy Commissioner.

  • The scheme is monitored by the State-Level Monitoring Committee under the Agriculture Production Commissioner.

Eligibility

  • Must be a resident farmer of Assam.

  • Only small and marginal farmers are eligible.

  • Must be above 21 years of age and engaged in farming for at least 3 years.

  • Kisan Credit Card (KCC) holders can apply.

  • Must have a valid bank account.

  • Only one farmer per family is eligible.

  • Tenant farmers/sharecroppers with at least 1 acre (3 bighas) can apply.


Application Process (Offline)

  1. Download the form in

  2. Submit the filled form with bank details and documents to the Agriculture Extension Assistant (AEA).

  3. Beneficiaries are selected Gaon Panchayat/VDP-wise and approved by the District Level Committee.

  4. After approval, ₹5,000 is transferred directly to the farmer’s bank account.
