Critical Animal Disease Control Programme (LH&DC Scheme)
The Livestock Health and Disease Control (LH&DC) Scheme is an initiative by the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Government of India, aimed at improving animal health, enhancing livestock productivity, and supporting farmers’ livelihoods.

Eradicate PPR (Peste des Petits Ruminants) by 2030 through vaccination of all sheep and goats.

Control Classical Swine Fever (CSF) by vaccinating the entire pig population.

Provide doorstep veterinary services to farmers through Mobile Veterinary Units (MVUs).

Support States/UTs under ASCAD (Assistance to States for Control of Animal Diseases) for prevention and control of livestock and poultry diseases.
