The Department of Agriculture, Farmers Welfare & Co-operation, Government of Gujarat launched the AGR-50 Scheme (Assistance to Purchase Tractors) in the year 2011-12 to promote farm mechanization and support farmers in purchasing tractors. Recognizing the crucial role of tractors in modern agriculture, this scheme helps farmers reduce labor costs, improve productivity, and expand agricultural efficiency.
In 2014-15, the government introduced tractor company empanelment to ensure that farmers across Gujarat can buy tractors at fair and competitive prices. The AGR-50 scheme is fully funded (100%) by the State Government.

The AGR-50 Scheme aims to make tractors affordable and accessible to all farmers, especially small-scale cultivators. Tractors are essential for operating power-driven implements and enhancing farm mechanization, helping farmers increase productivity through efficient use of land and time.
💰 Benefits of AGR-50 Scheme
Eligible farmers will receive financial assistance for purchasing tractors:

🚜 Up to 40 PTO HP Tractor Models – 25% of the total cost or ₹45,000, whichever is less.

🚜 Above 40 PTO HP and up to 60 PTO HP Tractor Models – 25% of the total cost or ₹60,000, whichever is less.
This subsidy helps farmers save significantly on tractor purchases and encourages widespread adoption of modern farming machinery.

The applicant must be a permanent resident of Gujarat.

All farmers of Gujarat are eligible under this scheme.

The tractor must be purchased from an authorized dealer of a manufacturer empaneled by the Agriculture Department.

Farmers can easily apply online through the I-Khedut Portal by following these steps:

Visit the I-Khedut Portal and select the Farming Schemes section.

Click on “Click here for details” and find the AGR-50 (Tractor – Empaneled Vendors) scheme.

Read the guidelines carefully. Choose ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ for “Are you a registered applicant?” and click “Click to proceed”.
