The Department of Agriculture, Farmers Welfare & Co-operation, Government of Gujarat, has launched the “AGR 2 (Farm Mechanization) Scheme for Farmers Other Than SC/ST” to boost agricultural productivity through modern technology. Under this scheme, financial assistance is provided to farmers for purchasing advanced agricultural equipment that helps enhance crop production and reduce farming costs.

🌾 Objective of the Scheme

The main goal of this scheme is to promote agricultural mechanization across Gujarat. By adopting modern farming machinery, farmers can achieve higher yields at lower costs through the efficient use of land, water, and other natural resources.
This initiative is implemented in all districts of Gujarat, except in 208 talukas where the Centrally Sponsored “Sub-Mission on Agricultural Mechanization (SMAM)” is already operational. The AGR 2 scheme is 100% funded by the Gujarat State Government.

1. Financial assistance is provided to farmers for purchasing a wide range of agricultural equipment such as:

   • Power Tillers

   • Rice Transplanters

   • Self-Propelled Machinery

   • Tractor/Power Tiller Operated Implements

   • Electric Motor Operated Equipment, etc.

2. Small, Marginal, and Women Farmers receive higher financial assistance compared to other beneficiaries.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

• The applicant must be a permanent resident of Gujarat.

• Farmers other than SC/ST residing in areas not covered under SMAM (208 talukas) are eligible.

• The machinery must be purchased from an authorized manufacturer listed on the Agriculture Department’s approved panel.

Farmers can apply for the scheme online through the I-Khedut Portal by following these steps:

1. Visit the I-Khedut Portal and go to the Farming Schemes Section.

2. Click on “Click here for details” and select the desired scheme component.

3. Choose whether you are a registered applicant and click “Click to proceed”.

4. For new applications, click on “Click to Apply Newly”.

5. To make corrections, use “Click to Update Application”.

6. Confirm the application by clicking “Click to Confirm Application” – only confirmed applications are considered valid.

7. Take a printout of the confirmed application for your records.
