Krishak Bakri Palan Yojana – Himachal Pradesh

The Department of Animal Husbandry, Government of Himachal Pradesh has launched the “Krishak Bakri Palan Yojana” to boost income opportunities for economically weaker sections and enhance meat production in the state.

Goat farming is a traditional source of livelihood for small and marginal farmers, nomads, and landless laborers in Himachal Pradesh. Goats are highly adaptable to various agro-climatic conditions, making them an ideal livestock option for poor farmers.

Under this scheme, units of 11 goats (10 females + 1 male), 5 goats (4 females + 1 male), and 3 goats (2 females + 1 male) of Beetal, Sirohi, Jamanapari, or White Himalayan breeds are provided on a 60% subsidy.
