The “Scheme for Assistance on Purchase of Smartphone by Farmers” has been launched by the Department of Agriculture, Farmers Welfare and Cooperation, Government of Gujarat.
This initiative aims to empower farmers through digital connectivity by offering financial assistance (subsidy) for purchasing smartphones. The scheme helps farmers stay updated with the latest agricultural information, weather forecasts, and government initiatives through digital platforms.

🎯 Objectives

• To promote the use of smartphones among farmers for accessing agricultural services and market information.

• To increase digital literacy and enable e-governance in agriculture.

• To ensure that farmers in tribal and general areas both benefit from technology-based agriculture.

💰 Benefits

For General Areas

• 40% subsidy in the 1st year

• 10% subsidy in the 2nd and 3rd years

• 7.5% subsidy in the 4th and 5th years

• Total subsidy up to 75%, capped at ₹7,50,000

For Tribal Areas

• 50% subsidy in the 1st year

• 10% subsidy in the 2nd and 3rd years

• 7.5% subsidy in the 4th and 5th years

• Total subsidy up to 85%, capped at ₹8,50,000

✅ Eligibility Criteria

• Applicant must be a resident farmer of Gujarat.

• The farmer must be engaged in agricultural activities or agro-service provision.

📝 How to Apply (Online Process)

1️⃣ Visit the official I-Khedut Portal.
2️⃣ Click on ‘Schemes’ → ‘Agricultural Schemes’.
3️⃣ Select this scheme and click on the ‘Apply’ button.
4️⃣ Choose ‘Apply New’ to start a new application.
5️⃣ Click ‘Update Application’ to edit any details.
6️⃣ Confirm and submit the final application.
7️⃣ Take a printout of the confirmed form for future reference.
8️⃣ Check your application status or upload documents via this link.
