🌾 Jharkhand Rajya Fasal Rahat Yojana – Financial Assistance for Farmers
The Jharkhand Rajya Fasal Rahat Yojana (JRFRY), launched by the Department of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry & Cooperative, Government of Jharkhand, provides financial support to farmers in the event of crop damage due to natural calamities.
This is not a crop insurance scheme. Instead, it is a direct compensation program aimed at ensuring farmers, including both landowners and landless cultivators, receive timely monetary assistance without paying any insurance premium.
The scheme strengthens farmers’ financial stability, encourages continued agricultural work, and contributes to food security and crop diversification in Jharkhand.
🌿 Objectives of the Scheme
Provide financial assistance to farmers affected by crop loss due to unforeseen natural events.
Maintain financial flow for agricultural activities.
Strengthen farmers’ income and livelihoods.
Promote crop diversification, rapid growth, and competitiveness in agriculture.

Floods and waterlogging
Earthquakes
Volcanic eruptions
Landslides
Drought or dry winds (if drought not declared by the state)
Widespread epidemics
Natural fires
Thunderstorms and storms
Torrential rains
Cyclones
Exclusions:
Loss due to war or nuclear risks
Loss caused by preventable or unscientific farming practices
Damage by wild animals (covered under Forest, Environment & Climate Change Department schemes)
💰 Benefits

| 30%–50% | ₹3,000 per acre (up to 5 acres) |

Note:
Applicable for Kharif crops (Paddy, Maize) and Rabi crops (Wheat, Mustard, Gram, Potato).
No involvement of insurance companies; farmers pay no premiums.
Crop loss is verified through Crop Cutting Experiment data.
👩🌾 Eligibility
Farmers must:
Be a permanent resident of Jharkhand
Be a small or marginal farmer
Be a Raiyat or Bataidaar farmer
Be at least 18 years old
Have a valid Aadhaar number
Possess land papers (LPC/Land Receipts/Vansawali/Bandobasti Patta)
Lease or own agricultural land (10 decimals to 5 acres)
Have suffered a minimum crop loss of 20%
Exclusions: Certain government officials, pensioners with ₹10,000+ monthly pension, income taxpayers, and practicing professionals (doctors, lawyers, engineers) are not eligible.
📝 Application Process
🔹 Online Registration
Visit the official Jharkhand Rajya Fasal Rahat Yojana website.
Click on ‘Farmer Registration’.
Enter Name, Aadhaar Number, Mobile Number, and Captcha, then click ‘Get OTP’.
Enter OTP to complete registration.
🔹 Login and Apply
Go to the ‘Registration’ section and click ‘Application’.
Login using Aadhaar or Mobile Number, select crop season, and enter password & captcha.
Review basic information and click ‘Next’.
Upload required documents including Declaration and crop details.
Submit the application and receive a confirmation slip.
